Since governments get the resources used for medical care by taking those resources from the general population through taxation, there is no net reduction in the cost of maintaining health or curing sickness simply because the money is routed through political institutions and government bereaucracies, rather than being paid directly by patients to doctors.

Federal drug agents won’t pursue pot-smoking patients or their sanctioned suppliers in states that allow medical marijuana, under new legal guidelines to be issued Monday by the Obama administration.

What czar was this?  The “hope” or the “Change” czar?  A new low for this administration as they seek to legalize the use of marajuana.  What’s next, LSD?

In his first Inaugural Address, Thomas Jefferson reminded his fellow citizens that their happiness and prosperity rested upon a “wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned.

The current government seeks just the opposite.  It is called redistribution of wealth - it sure worked well in Russia and every other socialistic country.

Right now 40.4 % of all taxes are paid by the top one percent of our population.  How much more can we extract from them and the next 5 % that pays a total of 65 % of all taxes?
